Instant digital download of a PDF crochet pattern for you to create your own adorable amigurumi monkey soft toy. The pattern tutorial will be available to download after purchase, and contains a detailed description of how to crochet your toy with simple step-by-step instructions and plenty of photos. The pattern is available with either UK/Aus or US crochet terms.
Only basic crocheting skills are required (if you are a complete beginner you can find plenty of video tutorials for all of the required stitches online):
• Chain
• UK double crochet / US single crochet
• Slip stitch
• Increasing and decreasing
• Magic ring (or your preferred alternative)
• Changing colour
• Sewing pieces together & sewing on details (e.g. face details)
I use DK/light-worsted acrylic yarn and a 3mm hook for a 23cm/9” long toy, but you you can change the toy size with different yarn weights and hook sizes (e.g. Aran/Worsted yarn and a 3.5mm hook will give a 28cm toy).
You will need:
• DK/light-worsted yarn in dark brown, light brown and black (I prefer to work with acrylic rather than cotton, and my favourite brands are Stylecraft Special DK, Scheepjes Colour Crafter and Paintbox Simply DK) - you shouldn’t need more than 50g/90m/100yds of the main colour and a small amount for the accent colours
• 3mm crochet hook (for DK yarn)
• High-loft polyester stuffing
• Yarn/tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Round-headed pins (recommended to help with positioning parts before sewing)
Level: Basic
Language: English
