Inspired by sock monkeys — stuffed toys and printed fabric, we designed an afghan made up of framed stockinette-stitch blocks. Alternating the colors that frame each block’s red center created a checkerboard pattern which we joined with half-double crochet. Wait just a minute — who let that monkey in?
