These reversible garter stitch lace scarves were designed for sock monkey fans. Little monkey faces alternate across this lace that can be shaped as a rectangle or triangle.

The triangle begins at the bottom point, and an eyelet edging combines with a stretchy cast-off to allow the top to elongate, creating an easy-to-wear accessory. Since the top edging can be started after any 22-row repeat, the size can be customized for a smaller scarf or larger shawl.

The rectangle is knit from end to end, and the patterning repeats over 22 stitches and 44 rows. Instructions include narrow and wide versions. The size also can be customized for a wider wrap.

Designed for fingering weight sock yarns, these scarves also can be knit in a variety of other lace, Sheltland, sport, and DK weight yarns.

Lace can be knit from written instructions or charts.
