Monroe Felted Purse
This felted purse is great for a first time felting project. After knitting the bottom in garter stitch, the majority of the purse is knit in the round. Has an I-Cord strap. The pattern includes i-cord instructions.
The adventurous part of the pattern is that it does have a pocket attached before felting. The pattern includes a link to a pictorial tutorial for adding the pocket to the purse after the purse is knit but before felting. No worries, no special attention needed to keep the attached pocket from felting to the purse. It will not felt to the purse, except where it is stitched to the purse.
This design can be knit with any worsted wool or wool blend yarn that will felt.
Average Measurements after felting:
Circumference (toward bottom of purse) = 20 to 26 inches
Height of purse (not including strap or flap) = 10 to 14 inches
After felting measurements vary because of differences in individual felting processes.
