Pocket hugs have been quite popular during quarantine as social distancing limited human interactions. Here is my take on pocket hugs from an amigurumi perspective. I introduce to you my collection of monster hugs. These are great to send as a gift without the magnet, or add a magnet and put it up on the fridge as a reminder. The pattern is worked in rounds and pieces are sewn onto the body. Each pocket monster is approximately 3” (7.5 cm) in diameter.

Materials & Yarn
Lily Sugar n’ Cream Solid Cotton (Worsted): various colours depending on which monster you would want to make
Polyfill for stuffing
Crochet Hook Size: 3.0 mm
Needle for Sewing
6 mm safety eyes (at least 2 or 3 depending on which monster you would like to make)
Magnet (optional)

In order to be successful with this pattern, one should know the basic crochet skills

Ch = Chain
Inc = Increase
(Inv)Dec = (Invisible) Decrease
Sc = Single Crochet
Hdc = Half Double Crochet
Dc = Double Crochet
Tc = Triple Crochet
Slst = Slip stitch
St(s) = Stitch(es)
MR = Magic Ring
F/O = Fasten off
