These, soft, stretchy, and oh, so comfortable pants are for babies with attitude (or for those who aspire to have one)! Many knitters have asked me to start offering my patterns. Well, your wish has come true! Now you can knit your own Funky Baby monster pants using your stash of dk weight cotton or wool yarn and size 6 circular and double pointed needles.

Funky Baby monster pants are a wardrobe staple, generously sized to fit over diapers for sizes 6, 12, 18, and 24 months. The adorable knit “snake” draw cord at the waist helps pants stay in place until the next diaper change (instructions also include an elastic waist option for those who prefer it). The jaws teeth design on the seat of the pants can be knitted in during short rows or embroidered on later after short rows have been completed. Original and comprehensive directions include written pattern instructions supported with photo tutorials, and color-coded charts to help insure your success. Funky Baby monster pants are knit in the round, which means no irritating or bulky seams to rub your child’s delicate skin. The gusseted crotch construction allows your child to wiggle, climb, scoot, and crawl in all directions.

Funky Baby monster pant knitting pattern instructions include finished garment measurements (imperial/inches and metric) and multiple length options for you to make short shorts/diaper cover, long shorts (mid thigh), capri, and full length pants. A plethora of options for looking adorable in any season!

Pant sizes: 6, 12, 18, & 24 months
Needles: size 6/4mm circular needles in 16” and 12” lengths & size 6/4mm double pointed needles
Yarn: dk weight solid or variegated yarn from 130-480 yds/210-440 m
Additional tools: scissors, tape measure or ruler, stitch holders, safety pin, darning needle, embroidery floss, ¾ yd/m of ¾” (2 cm) wide soft elastic (optional), sewing thread if making an elastic waist.
Knitting skills: knitting in-the-round on circular & double pointed needles, knit & purl stitches, increases & decreases, short rows, and small amount of hand stitching.

The size 12 month seat chart is used for both 12 month & 18 month sizes.
