• DESCRIPTION
The Montagna is an easy rectangle shawl crochet pattern. This open design uses filet crochet to achieve a lightweight design that’s perfect for a summer shawl.
This crochet shawl pattern features a subtle mountain outline, or “montagna” in Italian. The main shawl stitch is filet crochet, or double crochets and chains.
The mountain outline is simply made with blocks of double crochets together. They stack, or overlap in a triangular shape to achieve the mountain design.

This crochet pattern includes written instructions and a crochet chart for the filet design.

• MATERIALS
Cascade Yarns Pacific,* a #4 med weight yarn (60% acrylic / 40% Superwash Merino Wool, 3.5 oz/100g, 213 yd/195 m) colors: 1 ball each of (47) navy-Color A, (65) denim heather-Color B, (32) country blue-Color C, (20) baby blue-Color D; or 852 yds in comparable yarn.
4.5mm US size G+ hook,* or hook needed to meet gauge.

SIZING
62”/157.5cm x  24”/61cm, blocked

GAUGE
4”/10cm x 4”/10cm =  14 sts in filet pattern x  8 rows in pattern, after blocking.
