This hat is a new version of my Gorro Montanhac pattern, adapted for lighter yarns. The motif was taken from an old handwoven blanket from southern Alentejo (Portugal) and I find it particularly interesting because - unlike most weaving and knitting motifs - although horizontally symmetric, the colours are inverted on each half. The pattern, although apparently complex, is extremely easy to memorise and knit.

Two different yarn combinations are suggested for this hat: option A is knitted in João in natural white and dark blue. B is made in Mé-mé 20 in natural shades (white and dark brown) and the white was paired with La Bien Aimée Mohair Silk.

This is a medium sized beanie. The finished measurements are: circumference at the brim: 55cm; height: 19cm from the CO edge.
For a slouchier beanie you can add one pattern repeat.

Este gorro é uma versão do meu Gorro Montanhac adaptada a fios mais finos. O motivo provém de uma manta antiga do Baixo Alentejo que é particularmente interessante por não ter a habitual simetria hortizontal: em vez dela, as duas metades do motivo apresentam as cores invertidas. Apesar da sua aparente complexidade, o padrão é muito fácil de executar e memorizar.

Este modelo é de tamanho único (M). As medidas finais (após lavagem) são: 55cm de perímetro; 19cm de altura a partir da linha de montagem.

Sugerimos duas combinações de fios diferentes: a opção A é tricotada em João branco natural e azul escuro. A B é em Mé-mé 20, branco e castanho escuro naturais, com o branco tricotado junto com o La Bien Aimée Mohair Silk.
