This is a for a pattern for a pair of socks that is knit from the top (cuff) down on two circular needles, with an optional 12-inch needle. The socks themselves are created using Alpine Cable stitches, so that cable knitters will love them. The cables will add both a little warmth and durability to the socks, as well as show off your knitting prowess.

Both stitches are both written out and charted.

The directions are written for all three sizes: Small, Medium and Large (and is sized by gauge) Please adjust yarn size, if you’re using larger needles, so the two are compatible.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting, cabling and lace).

The yarn used to make the sample pair is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock yarn in the colorway called Lilac. This yarn has been discontinued, but the gauge needed is 8sts/inch, for these socks

The sample was expertly pattern tested by Aaron Atwood, who can be reached at: eochdubh.pooka@ gmail.com.
