Montpellier Top Light
Montpellier Top is worked from the top down with ribbing down the sides. First you work the back and front sections one at a time. The top of the back is worked flat before picking up stitches on either side to create the shoulders and the neckline. Then the front section is worked flat, before the front and back sections are joined, and the body is worked in the round on the same needle. The body is finished with ribbing and, finally, stitches are picked up along the neckline to create the neckband.
Sizes 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6) 7 (8) correspond to a circumference of approx. 85 (90) 95 (100) 110 (120) 130 (140) cm. The measurements on the front of the pattern are of the finished top. The Montpellier Top Light should have a positive ease of approximately 8-10 cm. Make a swatch to determine the knitting needle size that gives you the correct gauge.
