PROMO
1) In order to support Black Mountain Yarn Shop in North Carolina that is temporarily closed due to hurricane Helene, anyone who purchases $50 or more from their online shop and PM’s me with the receipt will receive this pattern for free. Your order will be delayed due to the store, but it is a great way to support the shop.
2) anyone who makes the pattern in sizes 8, 9, 11, or 12, will receive a free pattern as these sizes have not been test knit
Montrose is a sport weight sweater in the “rose” series, sister pattern to DK Melrose. It features an asymmetrical yoke with berries and exposed floats to create a non geometric pattern. It has a higher neckline with a “petal” hem. The biased increase pattern creates curves for a “softer” look. Inspired by Delft, Wedgwood, and other china. Options for short sleeve and long sleeves. This is an advanced pattern.
Look for the third version, the “Mommy and Me” children’s tunic coming this fall!
Needles:
A US 5 (3.75mm) circular needle 32-60in / (80-150cm) long
A US 3 (3.5mm) circular needle 32-60in / (80-150cm) long
Optional - a set of DPNs in 3.5mm or smaller may be helpful for the double cuff on long sleeves.
Gauge:
25 sts 34 rows to measure 4” 10cm over st st using 3.5mm needles
25 sts 34 rows to measure 4” 10cm over chart pattern using 3.75mm needles
Note: Choose the yarn and needle sizes that allow you to achieve the gauge that the pattern is written for. If necessary, when changing to the chart pattern you may need to go up a needle to maintain the correct tension.
Fit: recommended 4-6” positive ease around bust and 1” positive ease around arm.
