Moon at midnight, and I cannot sleep; that’s the best moment for being creative and sketch for new designs:)
When I had sketched this shawl I could start knitting the next morning, as I had the perfect yarn available. And when I had started the narrow tip I could hardly put my knitting away; it was such a fun and interesting knit!

Design
The shawl starts from the short end and is worked back-and-forth until the widest end. 17 sections divided over a mixture of garter, simple lace, stockinette and a lovely stitch-pattern means that the shawl knits up so fast; you are always eager to proceed to the next sections, seeing how your color-combination works together….

Size
If worked at exact gauge the shawl will measure: Length 170 cm/67”. The width at the widest end is 75 cm/29.5”

Materials
Yarn:I used Madelinetosh “Tosh Merino Light” to work the shawl. This fingering weight yarn comes in skeins 384 m/420yards. You will need a total of 3 skeins of this specific yarn to work the shawl.
I used 1 skein of each of the following colors: MC: Beta crucis, CC1: Flash dance, CC2: Star scatter. You might use one, two, three (or more) colors to work the shawl…. In the sample CC1 is used for the lace, CC2 is used for the multiflora stitch-pattern. I suggest that you use colors that show off the pretty sts. Needles: you could start the shawl by using a pair of straight needles, and change to circular needles when you have too many sts on the needle to continue on straight needles. Use needle size to obtain gauge. I used size 3 mm/US2.5, this is a suggestion only. Notions: one removable stitch-marker, tapestry needle, blocking tools.

Gauge
To achieve the exact measurements of the sample you need to work at a correct gauge: 24 sts = 10 cm/4

The pattern
The pattern is tested and proof-read.
Measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.
The pattern guides you through the 17 sections with all necessary stitch-counts and instructions.
The lace-borders are charted as well as written out round-by-round.
There is a schematic.
There are grids for sketching colors before getting started.

I was so lucky to have 20 test-knitters trying out the pattern for me.
They have all chosen beautiful colors for their shawls. It is great taking a look at their projects for inspiiration and ideas.
