This is a pattern for the moon phases variation of imawale’s Octave or Octavie blanket. The variation of the pattern adds nine phases of the moon to the original field of stars, making a gorgeous heirloom blanket to celebrate the arrival of a new baby or as a spectacular statement piece.

This pattern provides only the variation from the original pattern, including the charts of the moon phases and written instructions on how to adapt the original pattern to create the moon phase version. Knitters must download Imawale’s original pattern for the complete instructions.

Any two contrasting colors of sport weight or DK yarn will do. The pattern requires 8 1/2 repeats of the star chart pattern and results in a slightly larger finished blanket than the original pattern – in DK yarn, the blanket is approximately 40”x60”.
