Moon Phases Sweater
This pattern is for free, but I appreciate the following: Consensually smash that love and downloading button and please provide me with feedback. Project pages, comments and other support are very welcome :-).
Several errors have been found during testing - mostly some inaccuracies regarding stitch counts and the position of the sleeves.
--> THIS IS NOW THE NEW AND IMPROVED VERSION. I also added additional but optional features, such as German short rows.
Please note: I chose overlaping charts, so there are only one or two charts (depending on the size) per size and not six (one for every moon). Please let me know if this is a good or a bad idea. For me, fewer charts are easier to work with, but this might not be the case for you. So I’m gratefull for any input you can give me.
And yes: Upon request I am already working on a version for adults. So bear with me, I’ll let you know when it’s ready for testing.
This Moon Phases Sweater is so much fun to explore. Children are always curious about nature and dark wintery nights with bright moonlight are just fascinating. Why is the moon sometimes circular, sometimes cut in half and sometimes nowhere to be seen? What is behind the moon? This sweater is aiming to honor children’s fascination with the magic of nature.
It is knitted from the top down and is worked seamlesslly and in the round. The most difficult part is for sure the colorwork yoke - I recommend using different stitch markers for different moons. The body and the sleeves are separated and worked from the top down and once you’ve passed the colorwork, this is an easy project.
The Moon Phases Sweater is suitable for dk or sport weight yarn.
