The Moonberry Socks are the second pattern in the Moonberry Collection. An entwined collection of lace, bobbles and cables make these socks a beautifully elegant addition to your handmade winter wardrobe, whilst keeping the knitting process interesting and addictive.
The socks are constructed from the top down, and instructions are included for both sport weight and fingering weight socks.
- Charts are included for the lace section in addition to written instructions.
- A video tutorial is included for the crocheted bobbles.
Yarn:
The pattern uses approximately 350yds/320m of fingering weight yarn or 300yds/275m of sport weight yarn. The sample shown is the sport weight version and uses a 100g skein of Birdstreet Yarn Suri Sport (50% Suri Alpaca / 50% Merino) in the “Bronte” colourway (328yds/300m per 100g).
Recommended Needle Size:
Fingering weight version - 2.25mm (US Size 1) or appropriate size to obtain gauge. For the bobbles you will need a 2mm crochet hook.
Sport weight version - 2.75mm (US Size 2) or appropriate size to obtain gauge. For the bobbles you will need a 2.5mm crochet hook.
Gauge:
Fingering weight version - 30 sts / 42 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch.
Sport weight version – 26 sts / 38 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch.
Sizes:
Small (Medium, Large) For both fingering weight and sport weight versions. Length is customisable.
Finished Measurements:
Small – 7 inch circumference
Medium - 8 inch circumference
Large – 9 inch circumference
