Moonbow Crescent Shawl
Vertical and horizontal stripes of hand-dyed rainbow hues come together in this easy-to-knit crescent shawl. Beginning with a wavy lace edge worked side-to-side, then shaped with short rows for a gently tapered Stockinette center…this lightweight shawl is sure to become a year around favorite.
Materials Needed:
435 yds fingering weight yarn (the sample shown uses a hand-dyed ‘assigned pooling yarn’, which creates a unique short-striping effect. However the shawl would be equally pretty with any type of variegated yarn, or a solid color. You could also use one color for the border lace and a complimentary color for the center section)
US 3 (3.25mm) circular needle
Tapestry Needle
Shown in Pattern:
1 hank Tangled Ptarmigan Fingering (100% Pima Cotton; 437 yds); in color Dark Side of the Moon
Finished Dimensions: (wingspan): 63” x (center height): 15”
