This soft and pretty set features SpinCycle Dyed in the Wool variegated yarn and a fingering or sport weight yarn of your choice (shown with Manos del Uruguay Alegria). The second yarn will play a significant part in your needle size; please do a swatch.

The use of slipped stitches creates a stranded knitting effect, but you are only using one strand of yarn each row. Dropped stitch cables create almost a lace effect with some yarns (particularly fingering weight) and a textured effect with other yarns.

The lace edging can be worn either on the bottom or top; the reverse side edging is traditional ribbing.

The cowl and mitts pictured are the smaller size of each.

One skein (200 yds) of the SpinCycle Dyed in the Wool yarn is enough to complete both a cowl and pair of mitts in the smaller size; if you make both the larger size cowl and mitts, you likely will need a second skein of that yarn. One skein would be plenty for either size cowl if that is all you choose to make.

Each piece starts with a bobble row and moves into the lace pattern and ends with the ribbed edging.
