Beethoven’s Moonlight sonata -my inspiration to design this pattern, is in three movements: first, an Adagio sostenuto, with arpeggios to be played very quietly, is expressed in the wavy st pattern of the border; then, an Allegretto featuring many staccatos that shorten notes, contrasts sharply with the 1st movement as bobbles do with the border; finally, a Presto agitato, the weightiest of the three movements written with many fast arpeggios, is translated into a fancy rib st pattern spreading over the rest of the shawl.

Moonlight sonata is an asymmetrical triangular shawl, starting at narrow tip of the wavy border; once the border reaches its full width, it is flanked to the right by bobbles then fancy rib st pattern. The shawl is completed with picots along the shortest side.

La sonate Au clair de lune de Beethoven qui m’a inspiré ce châle se compose de 3 mouvements : d’abord, un Adagio sostenuto avec ses arpèges et sa rondeur, qui se retrouve dans la bordure et son point sinueux ; puis l’Allegretto du 2e mouvement, caractérisé par des notes piquées (staccato), qui contraste fortement avec le 1er mouvement, comme les nopes qui longent la bordure ; enfin, le 3e mouvement, Presto agitato, le plus long de la sonate, avec son déferlement d’arpèges, se traduit par des côtes fantaisie qui couvrent la majorité de la surface du châle.

Moonlight sonata est un châle triangulaire asymétrique, commencé par la pointe de la bordure sinueuse ; quand elle a atteint sa largeur, les nopes sont mises en place, puis les côtes fantaisie. Le châle se termine par un picot le long du bord opposé à la pointe.
