I love shawls, but also like being able to throw something around my shoulders that doesn’t need to be fastened.

A friend recently showed up wearing a fabric ruana (ponchos ). It was perfect, so I set about to design one in lace.

The Tess yarn is nice and bouncy, giving the poncho a good drape and fit. The border is a two-stitch garter. The pattern will work with any nice DK weight yarn.
