When toying with the idea of this shawl, I was daydreaming of Autumn, and “Samhain Night” by Loreena McKennitt is probably my favorite song that weaves an image of everything I love about the season: misty forests, that scent of trees & damp earth, an owl’s
haunting cry echoing near early dusk, long shadows, a halo of ice crystals around the moon, memories of the past, spirits, lost love… “Like the moon’s pull on the tide”, each row ripples hypnotically outward, expanding around a mysterious center motif.
