Moonstone was inspired by the extra-large scarf worn by Lenny Kravitz. Moonstone is a sophisticated garter stitch diamond lace design creating a pleasing reversible textured pattern. It’s both wide and long to bundle up for cold and windy days. Its written in three size widths. Tassels can be added if desired.

Gauge 17.3 sts = 4 inches on U.S# 6 in pattern, blocked.

Getting the desired fabric is more important than the gauge. The gauge listed here is a benchmark to determine width and fabric. Any yarn weight can be used, adjust pattern divisible by 16 sts +5 to achieve desired width, adjusting needle size accordingly for desired fabric. When using garter stitch you may want to increase needle size up 1 to 2 sizes to open up pattern.
