Moorland Socks
A garter stitch short-row heel adds a fun twist to a stocking stitch sock, with a self-striping yarn reminiscent of the colours of later summer on the moor. Moorland Socks is the seventh pattern in Confident Knitting.

PATTERN NOTES
These socks are worked from the cuff down. The cuff is worked in rib, followed by a stocking stitch leg. The contrast yarn is used to work a garter stich short-row heel, before the main yarn is used again to work the foot in stocking stitch.
The sock is completed with a stocking stitch wedge toe and the stitches are grafted together for a seamless finish.
The short-row heel is worked over slightly more than half of the stitches, in order to give a good fit.
The pattern instructions include notes on using the stripes in the yarn to ensure that your socks match.
The foot length and leg height of your socks are easily adjusted within the pattern.
