Moosidales Hat
The Moosidales Three Way Hat by Mati Ventrillon Fair Isle-Scotland, a knitwear designer who lives in Fair Isle, is a relaxed, slouchy hat that can be worn multiple ways.
It’s a simple, fun project inspired by Ronnie Eunson’s story. Ronnie is the owner of @uradaleyarns and a ‘Fair Isle man’. His family came from Fair Isle and moved to Shetland in the early 20th century. The hat motif is inspired by a garment Ronnie’s grandmother knitted for his dad and the shape in inspired by fishing, which was Ronnie’s childhood dream. The name ‘Moosidales’ comes from an ancient map of the island pointing to the croft land where Mati’s studio sits and which she sees every day from her window.
Moosidales hat is knitted from the bottom up with two strands of yarn held together.
