The Moreton Street Cowl is designed to give the look of a shawl with the convenience of a cowl…less bulk around the back of your neck and it doesn’t keep falling off.

The pattern sample was knit using 2 strands of mohair held together but most of my testers used fingering weight yarn and loved the finished garment.

Yarn Requirements: 100g 400m fingering weight yarn
Sample was knit in Beautiful Knitters Chelsea Mohair Silk Yarn (held double) in the colourway Wolf and used 3 x 25 g balls
Needles: 3.75 mm 22” length
Notions: 4 stitch markers, spare needle for 3-needle bind off, tapestry needle
Gauge: using mohair held double 26 sts x 42 rows for 4”/10 cm over pattern blocked;
using fingering weight yarn 26 sts x 46 rows for 4”/10 cm over pattern blocked
Measurements: front depth: 41 cm, width at widest point: 54 cm
