Morgana
Amazing Morgana is worked from the center out, starting with two triangles. The various sections of the shawl are joined as you go, so no seaming or kitchener required.
The lovely color patterning is relatively simple and super fun to work as well; because of the slip stitch and mosaic techniques used, you will be handeling one strand only at all times.
Wrap yourself up in her warm and luxurious embrace, and be ready to conquer anything!
CONSTRUCTION
Morgana is constructed by working two triangles first. Both triangles are connected by working a double bias piece on both sides to achieve a seamless rectangle. To finish the short ends of the rectangle, stitches are picked up to work an I-cord bind off.
SIZE
One size
Length 190 cm / 74.75”
Width 55 cm / 21.75”
YARN
Fingering weight yarn, preferably with some elasticity and bounce.
Due to the colorwork, there will be (relatively short) floats on the wrong side of the wrap. I think these floats can look quite beautiful, but to make sure they will stick to the fabric nicely, I would recommend a non-superwash woolen or wool blend yarn.
MC approx 865 m / 945 yards
CC1 approx 400 m / 440 yards
CC2 approx 400 m / 440 yards
Sample shown in Einrum E+2, 80% Icelandic wool, 20% Thai Silk, 208 m / 225 yards per 50 gr.
Colorways MC = 1004, CC1 = 1011 and CC2 = 1016.
NOTE
The slip stich and mosaic colorwork is CHARTED ONLY
