Do you have some brightly variegated yarn that you don’t know what to do with? Honeycomb brioche is the answer you’ve been looking for! If you are unfamiliar with Honeycomb Brioche, don’t be intimidated! It is pretty easy to master and is the perfect thing for brightly variegated yarn. These unisex mittens are worked from the bottom ribbing up to the fingertips. It is best if you can try these mittens on the recipient as you work. If you don’t have access to the person, I have given some generic measurements for the lengths, but of course they won’t fit as well as custom measurements.

Sizes: Baby (Toddler, Child) (Small, Medium, Large) for a finished palm circumference of 4.5” (5.5”, 6.5”) (7.5”, 8.5”, 9.5”)/11.5 (14, 16.5) (19, 21.5, 24) cm.

Yarn: 75 (85, 100) (125, 150, 175) yards/70 (75, 90) (115, 140, 160) meters of DK weight yarn.

Needles: Size US 5/3.75 mm and US 7/4.5 mm circular needles with a long (40”/100 cm) cable or double point needles (optional), or size needed to obtain gauge and 2 sizes larger.

Gauge: 20 stitches and 28 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette stitch on smaller needles.

Notions: 4 stitch markers, a blocking mat, wires (optional), and t-pins.

Techniques: Knitting in the round on the magic loop, basic brioche stitches, basic increases and decreases.
