The last week of June is Myeloma Awareness Week and it was this week five years ago that I was diagnosed with Myeloma (a blood cancer). I am so grateful to Myeloma UK for the support and information they provide patients and their loved ones.

The inspiration for these socks was two-fold; firstly, Myeloma Stars which commemorate the brave people who are fighting and who have fought this horrible disease (for more info check out MyelomaStars.com) and secondly, a gorgeous mug decorated with stars and the slogan Morning Beautiful given to me by my amazing twin sister Jo. This mug makes me smile every time I use it.

These shortie socks are great for beginners and advanced knitters and would make wonderful gift knits.

Yarn used in the pattern was Malabrigo Sock in the Terracotta colour way, the perfect Myeloma UK orange!
