Moroccan Impressions Afghan
I have always been fascinated by the amazing patterns created by Moroccan tiles. When I saw this particular tile-shape, I fell in love! I simply had to re-create it in crochet.
The body of this blanket uses only one stitch, which makes this a very easy pattern. The pattern includes written instructions as well as a graph for the blanket body. The border is also super easy with only a single stitch repeat.
Surface crochet in a contrasting colour really makes the tile pattern pop. However, the blanket is just as beautiful without the surface crochet and many people mentioned that they would actually leave the surface crochet out. I’ve included photo’s with and without surface crochet, so have a look and decide for yourself!
Instructions for four different sizes are included in the pattern:
Large: 70.5 x 85 inches (2400g / 85 ounces in DK / Light Worsted yarn)
Medium: 61 x 73.5 inches (1800g / 64 ounces in DK / Light Worsted yarn)
Small: 52 x 62 inches (1300g / 46 ounces in DK / Light Worsted yarn)
Baby: 52 x 50.5 inches (1100g / 39 ounces in DK / Light Worsted yarn)
Once you’ve had a look at the graph, you’ll see that the pattern is easily adjustable to different sizes, so you can come up with your own novelty sizes as well.
Step-by-step photo’s will guide you through the border and surface crochet, however, a printer-friendly version without photo’s is included at the end of the pdf.
