This pattern for a reversible cowl worked using the double knitting technique includes a two colour version, an eight colour version, as well as charts to colour yourself, and written instructions for two sizes. In addition, the ebook and individual pattern both include a number of tutorials: the two-colour long-tail cast-on and spit-splicing.

The Morphology DK Cowl is knitted from the bottom up, starting with a two-colour long-tail cast-on. It is then joined to work in the round and knitted using a double knitting method.

Tension/ Gauge
22 pairs of sts (44 sts) and 39 rounds per 10cm / 4in in stranded double knitting pattern worked in the round, after blocking.

Size
Finished circumference is 55(65)cm / 22(26)in. Both sizes are 23cm / 9in tall.

4 ply/fingering weight yarn, with approximately 105 metres (115 yards) per 25g; see below for yarn requirements. Design shown in Large size knitted in Jamieson’s ‘Shetland Spindrift’ (100% pure Shetland wool) in eight colours. Yardage shown below for Small / Large sizes.
