Morse Stitch Decoded

This leaflet tells you all about morse stitch, a reversible textured stitch that will extend your knitting repertoire.

It comes complete with photo tutorials for both English Style and Continental Style knitters, lots of photographs of the different effects that can be achieved with the stitch … and quotes from those who have tried it. If you need it, a video that shows you how to knit morse stitch is available on request.

Most of the proceeds from the sale of this leaflet will be donated to the charity Freedom From Torture.

Included in the price are the morse stitch patterns you can see on the left. Two are for cowls - Spy Ring, and The Circus - whilst Cover Story is a pattern for a baby blanket.

Update: January 2013

Many thanks to everyone who has bought a copy of Morse Stitch Decoded. As a result of your support, I was able to start the year with a donation of £500 (roughly US $797, €597) to Freedom From Torture – their acknowledgement letter can be seen in the last photo on the left and my blog on their website can be seen here.

It may (or may not!) come as a surprise to you to hear that I will have to pay tax on this donation – but the good news is that Freedom From Torture can claim back that tax, thus increasing the value of the donation to £625 (roughly US $996, €746), all of which will came from the proceeds of Decoded sales. The money will go to help with the medical, welfare and rehabilitation needs of those who have suffered torture which, alas, often includes children.

Thank you so much for enabling me to make this donation.

November 2013

I was recently able to make a second £500 donation to Freedom From Torture which, when the charity claims back the tax that I have to pay on the donation, will increase it to £625. That brings the total donated to date to £1,250 (c. $2,018, €1,492), which represents the value of all Morse Stitch Decoded sales as of a couple of weeks ago, less Ravelry’s and PayPal’s fees.

The charity’s thanks (written, most aptly, by a fellow Raveler) can be seen in the second letter on the left, to which I most warmly add mine.

Update January 2014

A complementary copy of Plumpsoles, a pattern for baby booties with a morse stitch sole (see the fifth thumbnail), is now available to all buyers of Morse Stitch Decoded.
