Mosaic African Abstract 1
• This pattern includes a detailed chart with stitch key and general written directions for using the chart to complete your project. If you’re new to mosaic crochet, there are many helpful YouTube videos. That’s how I learned!
• The chart is for a flat piece with repeats, using the overlay mosaic crochet technique. Experienced mosaic crocheters will be able to adapt the chart for afghans, blankets, pillows, bags, placemats, scarves, and more.
• Two versions of the chart are provided: (1) a print chart with two pages that can be taped together so you can see the entire pattern, and (2) a screen chart if you prefer viewing the pattern on a screen.
• The design was inspired by African mud cloth patterns. The sample table runner was made with #3 crochet thread and a D (3.25mm) hook, with a gauge of 6 stitches and 6 rows per inch. It measures 14.5 inches wide and can be made to any length.
I hope you enjoy working with the chart as much as I enjoyed creating it. I’d love to see your completed project.
Happy crocheting!
Elizabeth
