Mosaic Bandana Cowl
Show off two colours of your favourite 4 ply (fingering) yarn with a simple mosaic pattern. The mosaic pattern may be simple but by mixing it up with some construction quirks and colour swaps, the pattern will keep your interest as you make it.
Tools
A cabled tunisian hook is required with a cable at least 60cm / 24in long.
Stitch marker.
Yarn
The sample uses about 68g / 238m each of two colours of 4 ply (fingering) yarn. Choose colours that have a good contrast and are of similar fibre.
Sample is made with Blackwattle Yarn and Fibre, Grevillea which is alpaca, merino and nylon. Fibre content of your chosen yarn does not matter, just try to keep it consistent.
The pattern can be made in other yarn weights but this will affect the size of the finished cowl.
Size
Cowl circumference: 80cm / 31in.
Height from top of cowl to bottom of shawl point: 53cm / 21in.
Height of back seam: 13cm / 5in.
The pattern
This is a written pattern with charts provided for left and right handed crocheters. There is a YouTube video to demonstrate mosaic tunisian techniques.
