This blanket design is inspired by the intricate beauty of one traditional Lithuanian woven sash known for its multi-patterned ornamentation (šimtaraštė juosta). These sashes, rich in symbolism and craftsmanship, have been woven for centuries, carrying stories, heritage, and identity within their geometric designs.

Pattern is crocheted in mosaic technique.

I used several different colors of yarn to highlight the intricate details, but you can experiment with your own color combinations to make the design truly unique. This pattern also works wonderfully as a scrappy project, allowing you to repurpose yarn leftovers and create a visually striking piece with a mix of colors.
