Mosaic Cobblestone
Cobblestone has been created using a repeated paving theme design with variations across five different panels.
You can either follow the example Afghan or you could choose to mix and match the panels and repeats to create your own unique masterpiece. You could also select just one of the patterns to make a scarf, wrap or cushion.
The pictured Afghan uses two colours, with a slight variation in pattern 4, where Colour A and Colour B have been switched. You could choose to change colours for each of the panels to use up your stash or keep Colour A consistent and then change Colour B throughout.
Two PDF’s are available, one using US terms and the other using UK terms. The PDF’s have easy to read charts for each of the patterns (with X’s for DCs) and includes the corresponding written instructions.
I used Bendigo Woollen Mills 8 ply (DK) with a 4mm hook (3.5mm for the double border) however you can use any gauge yarn you prefer, just don’t forget to use the correct hook for your particular yarn.
Colour A – Bendigo Woollen Mills 8 ply Luxury Stone (200g balls)
- Without the double border – 3 balls or 1080 metres
- Including the double border – 5 balls or 1875 metres
Colour B – Bendigo Woollen Mills 8 ply Rustic Marine (200g balls)
- Without the double border – 4 balls or 1520 metres
- Including the double border – 4 balls or 1580 metres
