Welcome! Mosaic Cutie Cat is a mosaic crochet pattern. For this pattern, we will be using the Overlay Mosaic Crochet technique. I have included at the end of the pattern a chart for working the pattern flat for those who would like to make things like blankets and scarves. Everything else in the pattern is worked using joined rounds.

• Flat chart for working blankets, scarves, and shawls
• Information on understanding contrast in color choices
• Instructions for working mosaic crochet in joined rounds
• Two different handle/strap options
• Instructions for a crochet lining for your bag and cat bed
• Lots of photos

At this time, this pattern provides charts but not full written, row by row, instructions. The bottoms are written row by row and then you use the chart to do the mosaic design. I am considering adding row by row written instructions, and will update this description accordingly if/when I do. If you’ve already purchased the pattern and would like this feature added, please let me know. I’m trying to gauge how important this feature is to folks.

Written in US Crochet Terms

Any yarn and hook will work, hook should be recommended size by yarn label, or one to two sizes smaller, depending on the look you’d like to achieve. I recommend choosing two different colors that are high contrast.

-- Small bag was made with Caron Simply Soft and 5mm hook.
-- Medium bag was made with Loops & Threads Impeccable and 3.75mm hook (lining was made using 4mm hook)
-- Large bag was made with Big Twist Value Solid and unknown stash worsted weight and a 5mm hook
-- Cat bed was made with Loops & Threads Impeccable and Big Twist Value Solid and 5mm hook
-- Flat WIP is being made with Lion Brand Mandala and a 3.5mm hook

Amount of yarn needed depends on size of bag you are creating and whether you are lining it with crochet or not. In general, you will need two skeins of worsted weight yarn, one in each color. You can use scraps of yarn too!
