Daydreams is the perfect pattern to use with a lovely gradient or colour changing yarn. Of course, other yarns would look wonderful too!

The instructions are for a baby blanket, however, they include information about how to adjust the size. The top pictured blanket measures 94 x 89cm (37 x 35”) and was worked in DK/8ply yarn. Any yarn can be used but the size will change depending on weight of yarn, hook size and tension.

The blanket is worked in overlay mosaic crochet and is available in both US and UK terminology.

This pattern is suitable for mosaic beginners as long as you know crochet basics and can research YouTube videos for help if needed. However, the pattern does include general instructions on how to crochet mosaic overlay and how to follow the chart.

The pattern has written instructions and a chart (marked with Xs). It is a large pattern repeat of 72 stitches by 35 rows. The pictured blanket was finished using a crab stitch around the border. This pattern does not provide instructions for crab stitch. There are many YouTube videos that demonstrate how to work this stitch.

When choosing yarn, it is important to choose contrasting colours so the pattern stands out.
