Greetings! Mosaic Flower Power is a mosaic crochet pattern written using the Overlay Mosaic Crochet technique. The pattern includes two different versions of a daisy flower, one simple and one more complex. Daisies are my mom’s favorite flower, so I am offering this pattern for free in honor of her. I hope you will use it to make your loved ones, friends and family alike, a beautiful flower to express your love!

Features of this pattern:
– 4 charts with full written instructions for each (one for working the pattern in the round for making bags or pouches and one for working flat for things like wall hangings and table mats, for each design - simple or complex)
– Ideas about choosing contrasting yarns for your mosaic work
– Photo tutorial of how to work in joined rounds
– Photo tutorial of how to incorporate tapestry crochet with mosaic crochet (MoTap)
– Written instructions for special stitches used in the pattern

Written in US crochet terms. Any yarn and hook will work, hook should be recommended size by yarn label, or one to two sizes smaller, depending on the look you’d like to achieve. Yardage depends on your project, weight of yarn, and hook used.

For my samples, I worked in joined rounds because I plan to make bags with them. I used Red Heart Super Saver Multis/Prints in Artist Print for the background color with Big Twist Value Solids in White for the petal and Big Twist Value Solids in Varsity Gold for the flower’s center. I used a 4.5mm hook and the final piece measures approximately 12 inches wide by 11 inches high.
