This pattern combines two techniques—overlay mosaic and hairpin lace. You must be familiar with these two crochet methods to work the pattern. It contains written directions for completing your project.

The pattern may be used for placemats, table runners, bed runners, scarves, etc. The sample placemat was made with #3 crochet thread and a C (2.75 mm) crochet hook. It measures about 15.5 inches wide and 13.5 inches tall.

I’m offering the pattern free, hoping to inspire other crochet designers to combine mosaic crochet and hairpin lace. It’s a lot of fun.
