I designed this mosaic crochet graph a little while back and have been itching to make it up. I wrote the pattern as I was making it off the graph and am very pleased to share it with you.
Pattern 1 reminds me a little of lanterns and the in between pattern reminds me of trellis, so that’s how I got the name.
I think it’s a pretty design and it is easy to follow, it is so nice to have the symmetry between both patterns as you can make it as big or as small as you like.
In the picture below I have given you some measurements, but these are specific to me when we speak of tension, I’m a medium tension gal’.
But it gives you an all round estimate of the sizing and you can plan away to make your own Mosaic Lantern Trellis.
Pattern includes written and graph instructions.
Experience needed: single row (cut n tie) mosaic crochet technique.
Materials:
10 ply. worsted weight and a 4 mm (g) hook. (Or materials of your choice)
The written instructions are in US terms.
SS = side stitch, the beginning ss is a regular sc and the end ss is a sc worked in between the legs of the previous sc, this avoids slanting.
Unless stated other wise, all sc’s are worked into the back loop

Unless stated other wise, all dc’s are worked into the front loop of the st that is 2 rows below the row that you are now making.

In the pattern, I have written repeat 10 times, but that is just an example of repeats, in my sample I only repeated the pattern sequence 7 times.
