Mosaic Overlay Crochet Pattern.

Linked Diamonds is a simple pattern which is made gorgeous because of the lovely background yarn. It is SO suitable for all those beautiful ombre/colour changing yarns. Using a plain colour for the contrast will really make the pattern pop.

The pattern is suitable for blankets, scarves or cushions etc. I decided to make a mini table mat for my coffee table. The instructions are for this mat. However, included are some details on how to use this pattern for other projects like a throw or a cushion.

It’s a beginner friendly mosaic pattern as there are no special stitches, just basic crochet stitches. Pattern contains written instructions and a chart (marked with Xs). Included are instructions on mosaic overlay techniques and chart reading.

The mini table mat (top pic) was made using Hobbii Twister and a 3mm hook and measures 50 x 34cm (19 ½ ” x 13 ¼ ”).

The background colour (A) used approx. 270 metres and the contrast colour (B) used approx. 200 metres. ANY yarn can be used for this pattern. Use the recommended hook for the yarn. It is a 24 stitch repeat pattern.
