Forget what you thought you knew: vests are more modern, contemporary and a lot cooler than our granddads used to wear. The vest is a perfect addition to our wardrobe for years to come. Worn by women or men, atop dresses or shirts, it’s a trend that’s as cosy and comfy as it is chic. And when the weather warms up also work perfectly well on their own.
The Mosaic Multicolour Vest is worked beginning at the hem upwards. It is a project for beginner: this simple design is knitted using basic stitches.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner.
Sts used: K, p, sl1, sl3, sl1wyif, sl3wyif.

MATERIALS REQUIRED
NB Please be aware that when knitting with the Noro Silk Garden yarn, the hand dyeing process means that colour changes will not necessarily match exactly as the above photo. This also means that the colours won’t match at the side seams of your vest. This distinctive random colour striping is part of the beauty of knitting with this quality yarn. Each row is a surprise!

• 2 (3) x 50 g balls 250 (375) m or 274 (410) yds using Noro Silk Garden Lite DK yarn.
• 2 (3) x 50 g balls 208 (312) m or 228 (341) yds using King Cole merino blend DK 927 shade yarn (Lavender).
NB If you substitute another yarn, please check tension and yardage.
• 1 Circular needle 4.00 mm x 80 cm (US 6).
• 1 Circular needle 5.00 mm x 80 cm (US 8).
• 1 Tapestry needle.
• 1 Stitch Marker.
NB Needle size is only a guide - if you get too many stitches for 10 cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches for 10 cm, take a smaller needle
size. It’s very important to check your gauge (tension) before starting as working to the wrong tension will mean your garment won’t be size shown.

SIZES: S/ M, M / L.
The vest is photographed in the S/ M size option. Pattern is written for smallest size with changes to bigger in parentheses. Different colour font use represents different size.

ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS AFTER BLOCKING
Flat width (just below armhole) - 46 (50) cm / 18 ¼ (19 ¾) ins.
Length (from top of the shoulder) - 45 cm / 17 ¾ ins.
GAUGE (Tension): 17 sts and 22 rows = 10 cm (4 ins), measured over stockinette st pattern, (garment being blocked), using 5.00 mm (US 8) needle.
