Mosaic Shifting Shapes
IMPORTANT: If using this pattern to make a hot pad, be sure to use cotton yarn, as acrylic will melt.
• This pattern includes a detailed chart with stitch key and general written directions for using the chart to complete your project. If you’re new to mosaic crochet, there are many helpful YouTube videos. That’s how I learned!
• The chart is for a flat piece using the overlay mosaic crochet technique. Without repeats the pattern works well for a hot pad. With repeats, the pattern can easily be adapted for blankets, afghans, table runners, bed runners, pillow covers, bags, scarves, and more.
• Two versions of the chart are provided: (1) a print chart with two pages that can be taped together so you can see the entire pattern, and (2) a screen chart if you prefer viewing the pattern on a screen.
• A hot pad, which can be completed in a few hours, is a great way to take a break between larger projects and to use up small amounts of yarn. It also makes an ideal gift for a dinner party, housewarming, or other special occasion.
I hope you enjoy working with the chart as much as I enjoyed creating it. I’d love to see your completed project.
Happy crocheting!
Elizabeth
