I love knitting Socks!! Top-down or toe-up I love knitting them! Recently I learned how to knit mosaic slip stitch and fell in love! I have designed this toe-up pattern with Balfour castle gardens in mind. I saw a picture of this Scottish castle in a travel magazine and was in love. These socks are an easy knit with just knit, purl and slip stitches while still keeping you engaged in the project so you don’t get bored. Also perfect for 9 inch circulars!

How many stitches you leave unworked in the middle depends on how wide you want your sock foot and heel to be. If you want it be wider, do fewer GSR’s. If you want it narrower, do a few more GSR’s and less live stitches in the middle. For Example if your foot is narrower I would work 1 or 2 more GSR’s on each side to make the sock narrower. If your foot is wider then work 1 or 2 less on each side to make it wider. This is totally optional and the sizes will still fit. This is just a way to customize the sock to fit more snug or loose depending on your comfort level.
