This is a simple pattern worked flat in mosaic / slipped stitch knitting, one colour at a time, with no need to cut or carry over yarn.

The pattern is knit flat in 2 mirrored pieces (chart 1 and chart 2 in the pattern), joint by a crochet border (or alternatively by a simple blanket stitch) and finished with a strap for hanging.
