Make your own Mosasaurus! This Late Cretaceous predator was one of the largest creatures in its ocean home from about 82 to 66 million years ago. With its robust jaw and serrated teeth, Mosasaurus was likely able to take on a variety of prey, from turtles to sharks and other Mosasaurs. As a result of their predatory behavior, Mosasaur species seem to have had a significant impact on the fauna of the ancient Atlantic Ocean.

Pattern includes instructions for two versions: a multi-color Mosasaurus using tapestry crochet, and a solid color Mosasaurus. The 32-page pattern includes detailed step-by-step photos and clear written instructions to make an amigurumi-style Mosasaurus. PLUS there is a 12-page printer-friendly TEXT ONLY version at the end of the pattern. This pattern has been fully tested by multiple testers. Includes yarn amounts and hook sizes to make a Mosasaurus using Worsted weight yarn.

Recommended for INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED SKILL LEVEL. The multi-colored version of the Mosasaurus uses colorwork/tapestry crochet. This pattern does not provide a tutorial for the basics of colorwork/tapestry crochet.

A finished Mosasaurus made using Worsted Weight yarn is approximately 17” long from nose to tail, 4.5” tall from belly to dorsal ridge, and 10” wide across the front flippers.

To make a Mosasaurus using Worsted weight yarn you will need:
For multi-color:
Main Color (dorsal aspect of body/back): 150 yds
Accent Color (ventral aspect of body/belly): 70 yds
For solid color:
Body Color: 190 yds
G (4/4.25mm) crochet hook (or preferred amigurumi hook)
One pair of 18mm plastic safety eyes
Poly-fil or other stuffing
Darning needle
