MosCowl
This is knit flat using DK or Aran weight yarn. It seems the knitting world is in love with knitting in the round but thankfully there are still some ‘old school’ knitters out there. I really enjoyed this and it was like visiting an old friend using straight needles after so long.
Of course, you can also do this on bendy bendy circulars, just don’t join in the round by accident!
Knit back and forth with a right side and a wrong side, this cowl creates a wave effect by using sections of stockinette alongside simple ‘knit one below’ ribbing. A nice, easy to work, icord edge gives this a perfect look.
This pattern is written in full and there are handy progress check boxes, so you can keep a visual track of where you are.
This is written for both DK and Aran weight yarn. Annoyingly, Ravelry only allows me to list it under one yarn weight. (possible update later in the year will include 4 ply and Chunky).
You will need the following :
DK
• Approx. 100g
• Pair of 3.50mm (US 4) straight needles (25cm or longer).
Aran
• Approx. 100g
• 4mm (US 6) straight needles (25cm or longer).
BOTH
• 2 x stitch markers to separate from knitted icord edge.
• Crochet hook for provisional cast on.
• Tapestry needle (for sewing those dreaded ends in).
Skills you will learn/use
• Provisional cast on.
• Kitchener stitch.
Video tutorials for both :)
I can’t wait to see your MosCowl so please do be sure to start a project page or tag me on Instagram and Facebook (#MosCowl @beanieboat).
Follow me (@beanieboat) on Instagram and Facebook for updates on future patterns, test-knits and giveaways from my little floating shop. Yes, I said floating … it’s on a narrowboat :)
If you like the look of this pattern it would be a huge help to me if you would give it a like as I have an overflowing notebook of ideas and this helps me understand what to work on next. Your support of my little dream is so appreciated. Every ‘like’ helps and it’s a known fact I do a tiny happy dance each time I get a notification. I am a terrible dancer!
