Moso Island sweater
The Moso Island sweater is a v-neck cropped sweater with ¾ length sleeves, contrast stripes, decorative purled edging and eyelet raglan detail. It was inspired by the cool comfy island style of tiny Moso island in Vanuatu, South Pacific and is perfect to throw on over a little crop top on those hazy summer evenings.
The pattern also includes instructions for working a longer sleeve and or body length.
The pattern includes instructions for five sizes:
Sizes: XS S M L XL
To fit bust: (cm) 79cm 85cm 91cm 97cm 103cm
To fit bust: (inches) 31” 33.5” 36” 38.5” 40.5”
Actual bust measurement of top: (cm) 89cm 96cm 103cm 109cm 116cm
Actual bust measurement of top: (inches) 35” 38” 40.5” 43” 46”
The Moso island sweater is designed to fit with 10-15 cm / 4-6 inches positive ease at the bust. To choose a size, take your bust measurement and find the measurement in the ‘to fit bust’ rows (given in cm and inches) that is closest to your bust measurement. If you are in-between sizes I would suggest sizing up.
(Photographs in this pattern show the sweater knitted in size S, on a UK size 8)

Gauge
18 stitches and 28 rows for a 10x10cm / 4x4 inch square in stockinette stitch after blocking.
Techniques:
The sweater is worked body first, from the bottom up in the round until you reach the armholes, at which point the first sleeve is worked on double pointed needles or smaller circular needles (whichever you prefer) until you reach the armpit. Armpit sts from the body and sleeve are slipped onto waste yarn and the first sleeve is knitted onto the same needles as the body. The second sleeve is then worked and joined to the body in the same way. The sweater is then divided for the V-neck and the yoke is worked back and forth with raglan and V-neck decreases. German short rows are used to heighten the back and the neckband is picked up and knitted at the end. Finally underarms are finished using a three needle bind off.
