This is a second design in the moss and twig series. There is a pattern for fingerless mittens. Matching hat was only a matter of time. It’s so very satisfying when everything comes together and brings joy. Don’t you think?

About
The moss and twig hat has a slouchy fit; it is knitted in the round with either fingering weight yarn held double (to match the mittens) or in aran / heavy worsted weight yarn. Is slouchy hat not your thing? Knit it few centimetres / couple of inches shorter for a beanie fit, you’ll need less yarn.
Measurements
To fit 56cm /22” head circumference
31cm / 12” from cast on to top of crown
Yarn
merino or highland wool
or wool and alpaca blend
slouchy fit uses:
fingering weight 75 g / 300m / 330yards
heavy worsted / aran 100g / 150m / 165yards
Needles
4 & 4.5mm / US 6 & 7,
double pointed needles or circular needles using magic loop method
Gauge
18 sts and 30 rounds in 10cm / 4” square; in eyelet pattern in the round on larger needles after blocking
