To get the design of our pattern we use the moss stitch. The moss stitch is also referred to as the linen
stitch, granite stitch, and woven stitch. I think the moss stitch is a beautiful stitch. To show the beauty of
the moss stitch all we did was to change the color of our yarn. If you never tried the moss stitch before
it’s a fairly easy stitch to learn. All you need to know is how to single crochet and chain. Our beanie
starts as a basic rectangle then sewn together to form the beanie. The yarn we use is the Red Heart
Super Saver yarn – 100% acrylic – 4 medium. We use two different color yarns to complete our project.
The colors we used are Cornmeal and White. To make our pom pom we use the pom-pom maker
(brand) Clover large size – 3-3/8” (85 mm). The approximate finished measurement of our beanie is: 21
1/2” in circumference and 8” long (without pom pom). The beanie comes in only one size but feel free
to adjust it to fit your needs. To make and attach the pom pom is optional but I recommend it because it
looks so beautiful (to learn how to make the pom pom, check out my tutorial).
