Moss Socks
Moss Socks
knitted with a circular needle using the toe up method, whereby the sock starts at the fingertips and ends at the cuff.
The stitch I used was Irish moss stitch. For cast-on I used the Turkish Cast-on technique and for bind-off I used Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Technique.
Yarn: Fingering 4ply (Fios da Fazenda) - 100g/380m
Composition: 100% Merino wool
For sizes 8-9 (US), 39-40 (EU) you can make two pairs with one ball in the color of your choice. From the sizes 9.5-10 (US), 41-42 (EU) it takes more than half a ball for a pair.

Needle: 3mm (2.5 US) (11 UK) circular needle, and a 2.5mm needle for the cuff.
Gauge: 31 sts and 38 rows per 10 cm / 4” in Stockinette stitch.
Terms: standard US
Skills: Turkish cast-on, short row shaping, increases/ decreases, Elizabeth Zimmermann’s sewn bind-off, magic loop with circular needles or Double Pointed Needles (DPNs).
Stitches and techniques are explained later along with abbreviations.
